Main materials

Main body and sides made from UltraTex^®: an ultra-durable performance fabric engineered for serious strength without the bulk.
• It starts with a base of high-tenacity nylon – a yarn with tightly packed polymer chains for impressive abrasion resistance.
• Woven into this is a grid of UHMWPE fibres – ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene that’s 15× stronger than steel by weight – forming a ripstop to stop tears from spreading.
•The fabric is finished with a dual-layer PU coating to add water resistance and enhance overall tear strength..
The result? A material that’s lightweight, weather-ready and up to three times more tear-resistant than standard nylon.

What is UltraTex^® and how is it different from other materials?
UltraTex^® combines high-strength nylon with ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibres to create a reinforced ripstop that’s up to three times more tear-resistant than standard nylon — yet remarkably lightweight. Finished with a dual-layer polyurethane coating, it offers excellent water resistance and long-lasting durability. While some of our backpacks use heavier materials for maximum rugged protection, UltraTex^® delivers exceptional strength in a lighter package. It’s engineered for those who want a durable, reliable backpack that stays light and agile, perfect for everyday use and travel.

How protective is this backpack?
Our Day Backpack offers an everyday level of tech protection, with a raised base that keeps your tech suspended 30mm above the bottom and separate sleeves with scratch-resistant materials. However, there is no AiroFoam^® in this backpack, so it’s not suitable to protect against extreme drop and shock damage.

Is this backpack waterproof?
Our Day Backpack is built to handle light rain and showers, thanks to its water-resistant materials like 420D recycled nylon and coated 600D polyester. Plus, the concealed YKK^® zip adds extra protection to keep your belongings safe and dry. Just remember, while it's great for everyday use, it's not a waterproof backpack, so don't go diving with it!

What’s the difference between this backpack and the Extreme Commuter?
Different people have different preferences, so we reimagined our design process for this backpack. The Extreme Commuter range prioritises top-notch tech protection and functionality, with AiroFoam^® impact-absorbing technology and a more structured build. In comparison, our Day Backpack embraces a minimalist, effortless aesthetic in a lighter design. Both backpacks offer seamless access to the main compartments – just in different ways.
